Are there any gaps or inconsistencies in the historical data?

PurpleLab CLEAR closed claims data are final action (paid or denied) records resulting from healthcare and pharmacy services billed to insurance (payer) organizations. By definition the closed claims will under-represent self pay & uninsured individuals' health services. Furthermore, PurpleLab CLEAR closed claims do not contain individuals with public insurance coverage such as traditional Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) or state-administered Medicaid health coverage. There are no other known historical or longitudinal data gaps specific to closed claims data sources.
